Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Arches are potential new products to be added to the catalog of Urban Canopee, in addition to the existing Corolle. The arche can be predominantly used as entrance porch systems, but can certainly have various other architectural applications.

The arche is made of 40x40mm GFRP ‘Corniere’ and has simple nut-bolt connections. The anti-clastic geometry allows higher span and stability, whereas the mesh structure is designed as such it is deployable, keeping in mind the rules of a hyperboloid, which was adapted as the basis for fabrication.

The idea was to provide vegetalised entrance, seating or parking zones, wherever required, and is in alignment with the company’s vision of making cities greener. The arches were presented at the CES 2022 in Las Vegas, United States.
